6-12 month contract based in New Zealand
Exciting opportunity for an experienced hands-on operations manager and strategist with a track record of successful turnarounds to work on the restructuring of a financial business, a new social network, and real estate, in New Zealand. Financial institutions and technology sector background is important. This position requires full time in-office work in Wellington and Auckland company offices.
Turnaround Professional Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of corporate restructuring, financial analysis, investment banking, or management consulting
- Strong knowledge of financial products and services
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP), may also be preferred
- Turnaround management
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement strategies to improve their financial performance and operational efficiency
- Oversee the development and execution of business plan to improve revenue opportunities, expense management, worker productivity and profitability of all business units
- Help identify, prioritize and execute the key strategic initiatives across the business plan
- Contribute to systems and technology innovation efforts to expand revenue opportunities and increase profitability across all business platforms
- Analyze and negotiate software, third party and client agreements
- Analyze the salary levels and position titles as part of the restructuring
- Provide leadership by working closely with CFO, HR, legal and all business unit heads
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. laws and applicable rules
- Contract Drafting
- Legal training a plus
Success factors:
- 15+ years of senior-level management experience with large teams
- English native speaker/mother tongue
- Strong understanding of finance, technology and back office systems
- Ability to develop and execute short and long-term strategic plans
- Ability to develop and maintain external relations with a wide range of stakeholders and partners
- Detail‐oriented, articulate, agile, problem solver, self‐motivated, proactive, discreet, and trustworthy
- Proactive and results-orientated with the ability to change priorities as needed
- Strong work ethic, demonstrate the ability to work effectively as a team player and independently, and possess the flexibility necessary to engage in all functional and administrative aspects of the role
- Proficiency in software applications
