About the role
The Head of National Assessing is responsible for driving exceptional customer and claims outcomes for Assessing across the nation by engaging and empowering a team of Leaders, Assessors and support teams to develop and execute the Motor Claims strategy.
This position is fundamental to the success of the Motor Claims business and impacts financial success through timely management of the various levers relating to assessing of motor claims.
What you’ll do
- National accountability for assessing cost, claims management and customer outcomes across motor claims (~350,000 claims per year)
- Leadership of a team of ~150 people located throughout Australia
- Design and execution of the National Assessing strategy to deliver best in class claims outcomes by leveraging and operationalising investments in people, data, digital and technology
- Contributing to the development of the strategic and operational goals, budget plans for the motor claims portfolio, together with the Motor Claims Leadership team and Motor Portfolio team
- Driving the financial and operational success of the motor claims function through the management of key levers and containment of claims costs, including operating costs, claims handling expenses, life of claim measures and assessor productivity, while balancing customer satisfaction
- Management of developing, implementing, auditing, and ensuring compliance against the Assessing performance management frameworks; driving for successful results across all areas
- Build a culture of innovative thinking and continuous improvement with a focus to deliver best practice, consistency in claims management and high levels of customer satisfaction and advocacy
What you’ll bring to the role
- Relevant tertiary qualification (desired)
- A passion for people and customers and ability to work in a performance led culture
- Demonstrated management experience within insurance claims or large-scale operational teams
- At least 10 years commercial experience in insurance or financial services, ideally with exposure across all parts of the claims value chain
- Preferably a deep knowledge of the Motor Claims, Assessing & Repair Industry
