We are looking for a Deputy Station Manager who will provide direct support to the General Manager. The successful candidate will be an energetic, positive, professional, and self-motivated individual who can provide exceptional managerial support and be a team leader.

1. Authority:

  • The Deputy Station Manager (DSM) will report directly to the General Manager.
  • Will support the overall safe, efficient, and profitable operation of all SAMSIC customers in Edmonton.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the highest quality standards of service are met and maintained.
  • Full authority to run the operation in accordance with the specific responsibilities for the respective location.

2. Responsibilities:

  • Establish a culture of total accountability in all areas.
  • Explain, live, and enforce the Group’s Vision, Mission Statement and Core Values.
  • Establish and protect the SAMSIC company brand.
  • Train to perform all duties that the General Manager executes in the event the General Manager is absent.
  • Work closely with the General Manager to establish, implement, and enforce new policies, ideas, and practices as needed.
  • Enforce Corporate and Regulator best safety practices, liaising with the Quality Safety and Security Manager on a weekly basis.
  • Enforce Corporate and Regulator best quality practices, liaising with the PRM Supervisors monthly.
  • Oversee the PRM Supervisors to establish, implement, and enforce new policies, ideas, and practices as required.
  • Fanatical emphasis on quality through dialogue, audits, coaching and example.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the PRM services ensuring best safety practices and excellent customer service.
  • Develop and mentor direct reports of the PRM Supervisors.
  • Understand and track manpower costs daily, correcting any inefficiencies immediately.
  • Oversee training, development, and growth of the PRM Supervisors.
  • Attend monthly P&L reviews with finance and senior management.
  • Hire, train, and maintain the station supervisor team obtaining final approval from the GM.
  • Implement, reward, and celebrate employees following corporate guidelines.
  • Enforce and document progressive discipline through reporting, coaching, and/or termination as required.
  • Attend Edmonton International Airport's monthly AOC meetings.
  • Meet with Customers on a weekly basis ensuring all minutes and outstanding items are dealt with promptly.
  • Establish, monitor, and oversee monthly Occupational Health & Safety meetings.
  • Establish and attend regular meetings with the Edmonton Management team.
  • Respond and reply promptly to inquiries/issues brought forward by the customer, investigating and reporting as required.
  • Participate in the corporate conference calls weekly, being prepared to provide input and explanation of financials, labour, and expenses of YEG station.
  • Ensure transparent communication externally and internally at all levels.
  • Promote and enforce excellent housekeeping practices.
  • Promote and enforce excellent uniform standards at all levels as per SAMSIC Uniform Policy, and provide discipline/coaching to staff that are non-compliant.
  • Proven knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Knowledge of Indeed, posting ads and strong knowledge of onboarding practices.

3. Qualifications:

  • At least 3 Years of aviation experience.
  • Strong knowledge of aviation and it’s practices.
  • Proven track record of operational and financial results.
  • Management experience of 10+ staff.
  • Fluent in French or second language is an asset.
  • International work experience is a plus.
  • Availability to travel.
  • Able to work extended periods under highly stressful situations.

Job Type: Full-time
