We run programmes of support for start-ups and the owners of small businesses across the south of England and the Midlands. The post holder will need to hit the ground running and be able to organise and promote the events, both online and in-person. The format of the events will vary, and includes webinars, seminars, workshops, masterclasses, interviews and podcasts.
The marketing of the events is a key component of the role, but the post holder will also get involved in marketing the wider programmes of support. Exceptional individuals can take on assignments to audit, analyse and recommend marketing execution plans for clients.
We work with a network of specialists who provide the content and facilitate or present each of the events, as well as providing one to one expert advice to the companies we work with. You will be directly involved in agreeing the format of events with these specialists (including whether it is to be in-person or online, time, date, outputs to be achieved), and then setting everything up to make sure it happens. This includes gathering event and presenter information, creating the promotional material and marketing the events.
Events will be promoted via our own network of Business Hubs, via LinkedIn, Social Media, Eventbrite, newsletters and via partner organisations. You will need to be comfortable creating visually appealing media assets for these different platforms and channels, ideally as a creative Canva expert who can work at speed.
You should be comfortable in the use of marketing automation tools, and always be on the lookout to identify ways in which innovations can be introduced that will enhance the impact, reach, levels of engagement and overall efficiency of marketing activity.
Online Events are run using Zoom. Experience of setting up and managing event via Zoom is essential. Similarly many of the events are scheduled using Eventbrite, and so experience in using this platform is also essential.
Digital Islands has a track record in automating processes to remove or reduce the level of repetitive administration, and the ideal candidate will bring experience of doing this (such as Zapier). We will actively encourage you to help us strengthen existing processes and encourage the introduction of new automations that save time, improve productivity and consistency.
You will be involved in running one or more of the online communities run by Digital Islands, and providing some admin support.
You will need to have a marketing degree.
